How Oaks walks with you

Advocates, Groups, and Restorative Prayer.

Advocates

One-on-one connections with trained volunteers who provide support, encouragement, and accountability for the healing process. Advocates partner with participants as they integrate their healing into their faith, life, and relationships. They are supervised by Oaks staff, with similar life experiences and who are a few steps ahead in the healing process.

Groups

Relational environments for people to discover what it looks like to engage in their process of healing with God and others, addressing specific needs such as grief and loss, trauma and abuse, substance use, compulsive behaviors, body image, disability, and more.

Restorative Prayer

Guided prayer sessions aiming to address the root of issues hindering personal connection with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Sessions last approximately an hour-and-a-half to two hours and are facilitated by two trained volunteers. The process may include asking God to highlight areas where you are believing something untrue about his character, where you might have first learned to believe this, and asking God what truth he has for you instead.

More information about Oaks services

All interactions which take place in the setting of Oaks support are considered confidential and are established with a confidentiality agreement in the intake process.

Oaks does not provide licensed clinical counseling or certified biblical counseling, though counseling may be part of the Oaks support connections. We do not diagnose, assess, or treat mental illness. Oaks is not a crisis service; we establish rehabilitative support relationships which can take a few weeks to establish. We are not a referral service; we can provide recommended community counseling and mental health services but cannot guarantee connection within outside organizations to Oaks Ministry Collaborative.

Featured story · Restorative Prayer
I feel like I have experienced more growth during/after this time of prayer than I have in the past few years! Restorative prayer helped me get unstuck spiritually and the Lord has continued to use the words/images to encourage me throughout these past few weeks/months. Feel free to share this if you would like! I just have to say that both my husband and I did restorative prayer and it has 100% felt like the shift we needed & have been searching for honestly for a few years now! Having someone to walk alongside us, even just for a couple hours, and help us bring our thoughts/fears/hurts to the Lord and listen to Him with us has healed parts of our hearts that no advice or class or striving on our own ever could. I can understand more deeply now that the Lord [wants] to draw us to himself in love and that the Holy Spirit is our counselor. I have seen a change in my ability to silence fear and stop the spiral of anxiety. I have seen the Father with a more tender heart towards me and Jesus as a welcoming and peaceful savior who delights in me trusting him. I could say a lot more, but thank you for doing this & for caring for us in this ministry! :)
Restorative Prayer
Healing breakthrough relationally with God, a way to move forward in the church.
Restorative Prayer
Eye opening and restorative. Blessed time. I went in with a little apprehension or not knowing exactly how it would go, and tried to best prepare my heart with prayer. It was more fruitful than I was prepared for
Restorative Prayer
I was released from the burden of sadness and fear that had been hanging over me for weeks following an experience of complicated grief. I was freed to let go of many things I had been trying to control. I was invited to go to the Lord's high ground in many places. It was very powerful. I loved it. I wish all my friends could do it, and I have already recommended it to several people. It was such a sweet time with the Lord.

Groups

Men's Forgiven & Free
I've been going to Forgiven and Free for a few weeks now. I've seen an incredible shift in my life with my marriage and time with the Lord, and I am overjoyed!
Career Transition Series with Jen Emmons
One thing that stood out as surprising to me was how faith was incorporated into each of the discussions. In my experience, career growth has been a discussion at work with my manager, separate from what it means to trust God and God caring for me through transition and growth. It was a new and encouraging experience to talk through the very practical pieces of resumes, interviewing, job offers (and rejections), etc. through the perspective of staying grounded in Faith and what God is doing in my life.

Advocate Support

Advocate Support
I'm truly grateful for your support. It helped open a door for me to reflect more deeply about on my own journey as a parent, especially in walking alongside a child who has struggled for so long.
Advocate Support
I'm writing to share how deeply Oaks has been impacting my walk with God. Through Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit, Oaks has played a vital role in restoring my relationship with God, and that process is still continuing in meaningful ways. I'm genuinely grateful for the ministry you lead and the care you pour into it. Thank you.
