Why Groups?

Three core goals

Every Oaks group is built around three foundational outcomes that shape how participants experience healing together.

Engage in Healing

Equip participants to engage in their own healing process with God and others—moving from passive observation to active participation in wholeness.

Rehabilitative Relationships

Provide an environment for rehabilitative and redemptive relationships through emotional processing, vulnerability, and mutual support.

Biblical Integration

Explore and integrate biblical clarity, spirituality, and God’s power in healing for specific psychological topics—bridging theology and real-life experience.

How It Works

How groups work

Common questions about what to expect when you join an Oaks group.

What is the focus of Oaks groups?

Groups focus on peer support and experiential processing rather than informational learning. The emphasis is on engaging your own healing with God and others through relational connection, not lectures or curricula.

How long do groups run?

Most groups run in approximately three-month sessions with specific start and end dates. Some groups, like Hope Through Hardship, are ongoing. Check each group listing for its specific schedule.

Where do groups meet?

Groups meet either virtually or in-person at church partner locations, depending on the specific group. Format details are listed with each group.

Do I need to belong to a specific church?

No. Groups are open to participants from any church background. You do not need to attend a partner church to participate.

What does healing look like in groups?

Healing is viewed as holistic—encompassing the physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions of a person. Groups create space for all of these areas to be addressed together.

Can I volunteer as a group facilitator?

Groups are only for active participants. If you are interested in volunteering as a facilitator or in another role, please complete the volunteer application rather than signing up as a participant.

What if I’m not sure a group is right for me?

One-on-one connections are available for those who are uncertain about joining a group. Start the support intake and we’ll help you find the right fit.
