The science, in plain English
What rejuvenation actually does
A shingle is asphalt held together by oils. Sun and heat slowly bake those oils out; we put them back. That's the whole idea — here's how it plays out on a real roof.
01 Why shingles fail
The oils are the first thing to go
When a shingle leaves the factory, its asphalt core is rich in lightweight oils that keep it flexible — able to swell in July heat and shrink through a January night without complaint. Over eight to fifteen years of UV and weather, those oils oxidize and evaporate. The asphalt stiffens, shrinks, and starts to crack; the granules that shield it from the sun lose their grip and wash into your gutters.
Here's the part most homeowners never hear: the structure is usually still sound. The mat is intact, the shingles are attached, the deck is dry. It's the chemistry that's gone — and chemistry can be put back.
02 What goes on your roof
A soybean-derived oil that thinks it's asphalt
The treatment is a plant-based penetrant — an oil derived from soybeans, refined so its molecules are small enough to slip past the granules and into the asphalt core, where they bond with the oils that remain. It dries clear, stays breathable, and is safe to use around landscaping.
-
i.
Flexibility returns
Replenished oils let the asphalt expand and contract with the weather again, instead of cracking under the strain.
-
ii.
Water sheds again
Rejuvenated shingles bead and shed rain the way they did when new, protecting the deck and everything under it.
-
iii.
Granules hold on
A supple binder grips its UV-blocking granules longer — slowing the very erosion that ages a roof in the first place.
03 Treatment day
What actually happens, start to finish
-
The check-up ~20 min
We get on the roof, flex a few shingles, and tell you straight whether rejuvenation will hold. If it won't, that's the end of the sales pitch — and the visit is still free.
-
Gentle prep ~30 min
Debris is cleared by hand and blower, gutters get a quick pass, and plants and walkways are covered. No pressure washing — it strips granules off an aging roof.
-
Application 1–3 hrs
The treatment is sprayed evenly across every shingle at a measured coverage rate. Even coverage is the whole craft — it's why this isn't a garden-sprayer job.
-
Soak & cure days
The oil penetrates within 30–60 minutes and is rain-safe shortly after; full curing takes a few days. We schedule around the weather so you never have to think about it.
-
Walkthrough & warranty same day
We walk the property with you, leave everything as we found it, and register your written warranty before we pull out of the driveway.
04 Equally important
What this treatment isn't
-
It isn't a coating.
Films and sealants sit on top of shingles, and on asphalt they can trap moisture, block ventilation, and void manufacturer warranties. We never paint a membrane over a shingle roof — and we'd gently suggest no one else should either.
-
It isn't a resurrection.
Chemistry restores flexibility; it doesn't reattach broken tabs or fix leaks. A roof that's already failing needs a roofer, not a rejuvenator — and if that's what we find, we'll tell you on the spot.
05 Candidacy
Is your roof a fit?
Likely a great candidate
- Asphalt shingles roughly 6–20 years old
- Shingles intact and attached, even if faded or stiff
- Early drying signs — granule loss, minor curling
- A dry, sound deck underneath
Probably needs a roofer instead
- Active leaks or soft spots in the deck
- Widespread broken or missing shingles
- Fresh storm damage — that's an insurance claim, and we'll say so
- Flat, metal, or tile roofs — the treatment is for asphalt shingles only

Common questions
Asked at almost every kitchen table
Will it change the color of my roof?
No. The treatment dries completely clear. For the first day or two the roof can look slightly darker — the way pavement does after rain — and then it returns to its normal color.
How long does one treatment last?
Each treatment is good for about five years, and re-treating extends the clock again — up to roughly ten added years in total for most roofs. Your written warranty spells out exactly what's covered for your roof's age and condition.
Is it safe for gutters, gardens, and pets?
Yes. The formula is plant-based and non-toxic, and we cover landscaping and walkways during application anyway — mostly to keep overspray off surfaces you'd rather keep dry. Normal use of the yard can resume the same day.
Can't I just buy a sprayer and do this myself?
DIY products exist, and we won't pretend otherwise. The catch is coverage rate: too little does nothing, too much pools and runs, and uneven application means uneven protection. We measure the roof, calibrate the rate, and put a warranty behind the result — that's what you're actually hiring.
Does it work on metal, tile, or flat roofs?
No — the chemistry is specific to asphalt. The treatment restores oils to an asphalt binder, so it has nothing to offer metal, tile, or membrane roofs. If that's what you have, we'll point you to the right specialist.
What if my roof doesn't qualify?
Then we tell you, plainly and for free. About one roof in five we look at isn't a good candidate, and pushing a treatment that won't hold would cost us more in reputation than it earns in revenue. We'd rather you trust us in ten years when your next house needs it.
